This 1990 7- UP Edition Mustang Convertible has an original 26,403 miles and is powered by Fords Legendary 5.0 Liter 225 H.P. For those of you who may not be aware, in 1990 the 7-UP Bottling Company was to give away thirty Limited Edition Mustang LX Convertible’s at the 1990 National Collegiate Athletic Association Basket Ball Finals in the United States. In an audience participation contest, anyone sinking a basket from center court with one try was to drive home in one of these cars. At the last minute the contest was cancelled. Production of these cars started December 1989, with only two cars being built. Full production began February 2nd 1990 with the final car being built May 29th 1990. The Convertibles all started out as coupes and had the hardtop removed prior to shipment to Cars & Concepts of Brighton Mi. The plan was to build 5,000 cars but only 4,103 were built. Of the 4,103 cars built 1,360 were built as 5-Speed Manuals, 2,743 were built as automatics and 261 were built for export. The 1990 Limited Edition LX Convertible has some features which differentiate it from other Mustang models. These features include deep Emerald Green Metallic Paint (Code PA), Color Keyed body Side Moldings, Fascia Moldings and Side View Mirrors. In addition these cars all came with Arctic White Leather seating, Artic White Vinyl Convertible Tops and 15” GT Aluminum Wheels and were available if ordered with a 4-Speed Overdrive Automatic Transmission. The overall condition of this 1990 7-UP Limited Edition Mustang is remarkable in all categories. The car is 100% original all the way down to the paint and has always been adult owned and driven and driven very sparingly over the last 18 years (Only 1400 miles per year).
